Update from Josh:

I would like to thank you very much for your contribution to these great projects. It is my belief that healthcare is the single largest global problem that we have to combat. It has an impact on every aspect of life including education, workforce development, and quality of life. I have been very fortunate to be raised in the United States in a loving household with the luxuries that many in the United States enjoy. However there are many within the United States and many more in the world whose only luxury might be to walk two miles instead of 3 miles to use the toilet. These projects will make a huge difference in the lives of some very honest, hardworking people and it will be due to your generous support. I will also be providing updates while I am in India on a blog (that I will post to this website) so that you can track your donations and my progress.
Aabhar!

About the Project

Josh has committed to complete two high need water projects in rural Surendranagar District of Gujarat, India: the Khod Community Water Distribution Tank and Malniyaad Village Toilet Facilities.

Khod Community Water Distribution Tank

The Community Water Distribution Tank, the main source of water for families in Khod village, is damaged and in great need of repair. A leakage in the tank and pipelines has impaired the entire village water system, and families now must travel to the tank in order to collect water for daily household use. The leakage also prevents the village from storing and retaining water distributed to the village by the government. This project will fund repair of the damaged Community Water Distribution Tank and Pipelines, allowing water to flow from the tank to the taps in each household.

Impact:
Provides 140 households with reliable access to clean, drinking water in their homes; allows the Khod community to store and distribute 100,000 liters of water.

Malniyaad Village Toliet & Sanitation Facilities

Malniyaad village lacks basic sanitation infrastructure, and many poor families do not have access to toilet facilities. These unsanitary conditions increase the spread of disease, and villagers are often forced to walk long distances to go to the toilet. Women are most affected as they are often forced to relieve themselves in public view, putting them in a humiliating and stressful situation. The absence of toilets in schools force children to leave their classes and walk long distances to relieve themselves, hindering their education. This project will fund the construction of 20 individual sustainable latrines, allowing villagers to retain dignity when answering nature’s call.

Impact
Improved health and hygiene; increased work and school hours.

Join Josh and partner with Khod and Malniyaad Village to provide the basic health, sanitation, and water needs required to support a healthy and positive community.

100% of your donations will go directly to Khod and Malniyaad to support Josh's projects, and improve the health and livelihood of Khod and Malniyaad families.
